INTENSIVE COURSE JULY: LATENTE EN EL AMBIENTE

The adjective "latent" describes that which is hidden, which is kept waiting to come into operation or which is apparently inactive. Although it is not immediately visible, it has the ability to emerge at any time under certain conditions.

The intention of this research and creation laboratory is to generate a space-time to explore and delve into the concept of "latent", discovering the potential and tools that this latent state of sensitive listening and constant reading can offer us when diving into an instantaneous composition, whether individually or in a group.

We will focus on what already exists, from the matter of our own body to the context and what surrounds us, and from there take off towards various possible paths that articulate movement and physical mechanics, the imaginary and fantastic potential, and the relationships between bodies, time, space and meaning.

We will approach these encounters from movement guidelines to invite each participant to act on and relate to the proposed concepts with their own physical or imaginary materials. We will seek to facilitate the path in both physical and perceptive work, putting our dances/actions in dialogue with the environment and other bodies.

This workshop is aimed at people with some previous experience in movement (dance, theater, circus, etc.) and a desire to sweat and explore the limits of dance.

Biography

CECILIA COLACRAI

Dancer, independent creator and contemporary dance, improvisation and composition teacher interested in the research of movement and performance languages. She has lived in Barcelona since 2002. Currently and since 2012 she is part of the Big Bouncers Collective and the LaBolsa Group, both managed collectively, both in creation and production; she collaborates with the artist Joao Lima in various projects since 2008 and with the director Carlota Subirós, among others; she develops her own creative and pedagogical work since 2005.

She has collaborated with different artists such as: Thomas Hauert, Joan Català, Alexis Eupierre, Emmanuel Grivet, Montse Colomé, Toni Mira, Jorge Albuerne, Finmatun Cultural Association, among others.

She has been teaching dance classes since 1997 in Argentina and since 2002 in different cities in Europe and Latin America. She is currently part of the teaching team at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona (CSD and CPD) and physical theatre school MOVEO.

She has been part of the board of directors of the APDC (Assoc. of Dance Professionals of Catalonia) which awarded her an honorary distinction for her work developed during the years 2011 and 2017. She has been a resident member of the creation spaces La Visiva and La Caldera.
