Mimesis is a movement and performative language research that takes as its starting point the question: What is the engine of my desires and how to generate it?
Intellectually, the research deals with “wanting”, more specifically “I want” and less directly with “I desire”. It attempts to approach the subjective experience of desire and the question of its authenticity. It delves into the fact that even the most intimate aspects of our identity can be radically influenced by other people.
The movement practice investigates the question posed through a sensory approach, thus giving leadership to the body, full of information, answers, and which has the potential to discover the secrets of one’s own desires.
With this work, the author embarks on an exploration of herself as a human form in order to enhance her experience.
** This residency is part of the international residency program in collaboration with the Emanat Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia, under its Exquisite body project which supports young authors and is dedicated to the research of performative language.
